Seraikela, Nov 21: A tragic incident unfolded late Thursday night at Rohan Enterprises, located in Phase-1 of Adityapur Industrial Area under RIT Police Station.
A labourer couple working at the company allegedly died by suicide after hanging themselves inside the premises.
The matter came to light on Friday morning when workers arrived for duty and found the couple’s bodies hanging. They immediately informed the RIT police.
The deceased have been identified as Deepak Kumar and his wife Aarti Kumari, residents of Dharharakala village under Fathepur police station in Gaya district, Bihar.
The couple had been staying and working at Rohan Enterprises for the past one year.
Earlier, they lived in a rented house, but due to financial constraints, they had shifted to a makeshift accommodation inside the company premises.
Police said the couple had no children.
Preliminary investigation suggests a possible domestic dispute may have led to the extreme step.
However, RIT Police are treating it as a case of suspicious death and stated that the exact cause will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report and statements of family members.
On receiving information, RIT Police Station in-charge Sanjeev Kumar Singh reached the site with his team and conducted a detailed inspection of the area.
The bodies were sent to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Police have seized the couple’s mobile phones and are interrogating co-workers and other residents in the company premises.
Officials said the family members of the deceased have been informed, and further actions will be taken once they arrive.
The incident has created a sense of shock among other workers and local residents in the industrial area.
