Jamshedpur, Oct 6: A delegation of Fair Price Shop Dealers Association led by the organization’s President, Mohan Saw Paras, met the Special Officer for Food and Consumer Affairs on Friday and lodged a memorandum mentioning complaint regarding errors in food allocation to distributors in the Public Distribution System (PDS).
Mohan Saw Paras, through the memorandum, conveyed that there were several discrepancies in the allocation of food items to distributors in the district for the month of October. Many distributors had been shown under’Elevated Quantity under Process’ columns after the closing balance was displayed in the online allocation. This had resulted in several distributors not receiving their allocated food items, leading to dissatisfaction among ration card holders.
The association urged the Director to remove the ‘Quantity Elevated Column under Process’ to ensure that the PDS distributors received their allocation for the month of October. This would enable cardholders to receive their rations, especially in preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja festival.
The delegation included the Association’s Secretary, Pramod Gupta, Treasurer, Nagesh Jaiswal, Puran Saw, Pappu Kumar, Pramod Kumar Gupta, Sanjay Saw, Ajay Kumar Saw, Sukumar Sarkar, Binod Saw, and several other shopkeepers. (w/gsd)
