Jamshedpur, May 9: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) will spend Rs 4 crore 10 lakh to clear the garbage from the temporary garbage dump site located at Sonari’s Domuhani on the orders of NGT.
In this regard, tender has been floated by JNAC on 28th April. The last date for submission of online tender is May 9. And on May 10, the hard copy of the tender has to be submitted. Tender will be open on 11th May.
In this regard, JNAC’s special officer Sanjay Kumar told that as per the order of the court, the garbage of the two-faced garbage dump site has to be cleaned as soon as possible. A tender has been floated for this. The waste of the dump site will be segregated and disposed off.
He told that the waste will be sent to Odisha, while the compost waste will be sold. The Special Officer told that illegal dumping has been banned in Domuhani. Teams of sanitation supervisors and security personnel have been deployed day and night to monitor the temporary dumpsite. At the same time, it has been asked to take legal action against those who dump garbage illegally.
It is worth mentioning that JNAC had started dumping garbage in Domuhani a few days back, but here some people used to set fire to the garbage. Due to the smoke coming out of this, the people living in the surrounding residential areas had to face a lot of problems.
In this regard, a complaint was made by the people of Sonari to the Deputy Commissioner. Thus the matter reached NGT. NGT directed JNAC to clear the garbage at the earliest.
