Mayor Sudha Gupta’s “Whirlwind Tour” to Transform Mango

No Negligence Will Be Tolerated: Sudha Gupta

Jamshedpur: Mango Municipal Corporation Mayor Sudha Gupta conducted a comprehensive inspection of various wards and neighbourhoods across the Mango area today. The tour aimed to assess ground realities, understand public grievances, and ensure swift administrative action to improve the city’s infrastructure.

During the visit, local residents raised concerns regarding broken roads, clogged drains, and poor waste management. After personally inspecting several dilapidated roads and overflowing garbage points, the mayor issued a stern reprimand to departmental officials for “serious negligence.” Officials from the Municipal Corporation, Road Construction Department (RCD), Electricity Department, and PWD accompanied the mayor during the inspection.

Key Directives Issued by the Mayor

  • Infrastructure: Prioritize the repair and reconstruction of all major and internal arterial roads.
  • Sanitation: Strengthen the garbage collection process and ensure regular desilting of drains to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon.
  • Safety at Jharna Road: The Mayor inspected the high-risk Jharna Road area, where fast-flowing drain water poses a constant threat of accidents. She directed officials to draft a detailed plan for reconstructing the drain and implementing an underground drainage system.
  • Urban Illumination: She ordered the immediate repair of street lights and requested increased security patrolling to prevent untoward incidents at night.

“Developing Mango into a clean, green, and smart city is our top priority. While the Corporation is working with full commitment, public participation is essential. Cleanliness is a collective responsibility.” — Mayor Sudha Gupta

Future Plans and Board Meeting

The mayor announced that several projects involving solid waste management, modern drainage systems, and urban beautification are currently in the pipeline. These proposals will be formally discussed and passed in the upcoming Municipal Corporation Board Meeting, focusing on expanding basic amenities and accelerating urban development.

Strict Timelines

Concluding the tour, Mayor Gupta warned officials that she would personally monitor the progress of these projects. She emphasized that all work must meet strict deadlines and that the administration will not tolerate any further lapses in service delivery.
