Jamshedpur : The Marwari Mahila Manch organised its 16th annual conference at the Dhalbhum Club today. More than 600 representatives are participating from across the country.
Based on the themes energy conservation, child growth, eye donation and family counselling sessions were conducted.
Lata Agarwal, national president of the Marwari Mahila Manch, the response has been overwhelming to the conference.
The day long sessions today discussed about their programmes in years to come with an open question answer session after each session. There were speech- es by various chapters focussing their achievements.
She went on to add that empowerment of women through business also affords women greater say in decision making within the family. At the same time they now actively con- tribute to family income, have developed leadership qualities and intensified their participation in the capacity building process.
“As a part of Women Empowerment initiatives, one of the means adopted to empower women is to ensure access to earnings, which also gives them decision-making power. Access to finances can be provided if the women are linked to some entrepreneurial activities,” said a participant.
