Jamshedpur : In a shocking case of suicide a 23-year-old woman hanged herself from the ceiling fan at at Hira Singh Bagan under Golmuri police station area on Friday morning. Mystery shrouded her death as the woman’s in-laws claimed it to be a case of suicide but the deceased’s parents alleged it not to be a case of suicide.
The victim Ravinder Kaur was found hanging from the ceiling fan. The family members rushed her to the MGM Medical College and Hospital emergency where the doctors on duty declared her as brought dead. The incident took place when no amle member of the house was at home.
On the other hand, Ravinder’s mother Ranjita Kaur claimed this not to be a case of suicide and her daughter was victim of some foul play conspired by her mother-in-law.
Ranjita said the relation between Ravinder and her mother-in-law Harpreet Kaur was strained since past few weeks and last night her daughter was severely scolded by her mother in law.
“I am in state of shock and can�t imagine that my daughter is no more. She had called me over the cell-phone and asked for her father. On being asked, Ravinder said that her mother-in-law had scolded her badly. She was sad and was crying. On asking what exactly she said, my daughter said she will come to my place today.
But this morning at about 10.30 am, I was informed that she was rushed to the medical college hospital in a serious condition. On reaching at the hospital I found her dead,” narrated Ranjita, who resides at East Plant Bustee in Burmamines.
Ranjita said her daughter was married to Rahuldeep two years ago and it was a love marriage. She said they were waiting for the post-mortem report and then only decide whether to lodge a case against her daughter’s inlaw’s people or not.
Officer-in-charge (acting), Golmuri police station, Ashok Kumar Singh confirmed about that a young woman has died at Hira Singh Bagaan area this morning, but he said that they are yet to get any statement from the family members.
“We cannot comment as to what led her to take such step.
We will probe the incident. The body will be sent to the MGM Medical College mortuary for a post-mortem after recording a statement from the family members of the deceased,” said the officer-in-charge.
