Jamshedpur: Aam Admi Party(AAP) members carried out the funeral of the district education department from Old Bus Stand at Sakchi to the office of the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum on Friday to protest commercialization of education and alleged exploitation of parents.
Leading the agitators, outfit member Kranti Singh said the unique agitation was organized against the open flouting of the Right to Education Act by various private schools. He said the private schools were exploiting parents by charging unusually high fees under various heads.
�The private schools are exploiting parents by asking them to pay towards building fund and many other activities. They are violating government norms despite protest by parents and warning by the education department authorities concerned,� said Singh.
Among those present during the agitation included Omkar Singh, Ekra Ul Haq, Satyendra Singh, Appu Tiwary, Ramesh Prasad, Sunil Tiwary, Hari Om Tiwary, Appu Tiwary and Upendra Pandey.
