Maoist leader Prashant Bose and other sent to Seraikela jail

Seraikela, Nov 21: Maoist politburo member Prashant Bose alias Budha and his wife Sheela Marandi, Virendra Hansda, Raju Tudu, Krishna Bahanda and Gurcharan Bodra, who were arrested from Gidibeda toll plaza in Seraikela Kharsawan district, were sent to jail after the police remand period ended on Sunday.

They were presented in the court after getting medical done at Sadar Hospital in tight security arrangements. From where he was sent to judicial custody.

For interrogation, on last Monday i.e. November 15, Seraikela Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate had given police remand for seven days. The top police officers took the Naxalites with them in tight security and went to a safe place where interrogation was conducted. After the completion of the remand period on Sunday, all were brought to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for medical examination. After being produced in the court, he was sent to Seraikela Mandal Jail.

According to the information, Prashant Bose is complaining of burning in urine. Urine test of Prashant Bose was done. During this, there was a tight security arrangement.

All the six Naxalites were brought from Ranchi to Seraikela Sadar Hospital amidst tight security with a convoy of vehicles. Sadar Hospital has been completely converted into a cantonment. During this Seraikela SP Anand Prakash himself was present. It is reported that Prashant Bose’s wife Sheela Marandi is ill. For this reason, he was brought to Seraikela Sadar Hospital by ambulance at around 3.30 pm.

The security of Seraikela Jail has been increased after six including Naxalite Prashant Bose were sent to jail. The jawans of Jharkhand Jaguar and the jawans of SAT have been put under security in the jail. Apart from this, under the leadership of police station in-charge Manohar Kumar, additional personnel of the district force were deployed in the security of the jail.
