Jamshedpur, March 23: Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), in collaboration with the Jamshedpur Society of Anesthesiologists (JSA), organized a ‘Difficult Airway Workshop’ on March 23 in the college premises. The event aimed to equip medical professionals with advanced airway management techniques to enhance patient care and safety.
Designed for MBBS students, medical interns, and anesthesia and critical care consultants, the workshop featured hands-on training to improve expertise in handling complex airway cases. Over 150 delegates from Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal participated in the session, learning from nationally renowned faculty and experts.
The workshop was conducted under the patronage of Dr. Vinita Singh, General Manager (Medical Services), Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur, and the Dean of MTMC. Dr. Neelam Sinha, President of JSA, served as the Organizing Chairman, while Dr. Shyamal Maity was the Organizing Secretary. Dr. Amlan Swain and Dr. A.K. Baral contributed as Organizing Co-Secretaries.

Participants engaged in various scientific sessions led by experts from across the country. These sessions provided in-depth insights into airway management techniques, supported by practical training at dedicated skill stations. The hands-on approach ensured that attendees gained a thorough understanding of life-saving airway management procedures.
The workshop was successfully conducted under the guidance of eminent medical professionals, including Dr. Ashok Jadon (Consultant, MTMH), Dr. Mamta Rath (CMSS, TMH), Dr. Ashok Sunder (CMIS, TMH), Dr. Swastika Chakraborty (HOD, Tata Motors Hospital), Dr. Umesh Prasad (HOD, Anaesthesia, BNH), Dr. P.K. Dutta (HOD, Anaesthesia, MGM), Associate Dean Clinical, MTMC, Associate Dean Para Clinical, Dr. Rajeev Shukla, Dr. Shashikant, and Dr. S.K. Dua.
The contributions of Dr. Sanjay Deb Nag (Organizing Co-Chairman & HOD, Department of Anesthesia) and Dr. Sharad Kumar (Consultant, TMH) played a crucial role in the event’s success. The workshop reinforced MTMC’s commitment to enhancing medical education and improving patient care standards through continuous learning initiatives.
