Jamshedpur: Three criminals arrested for defrauding people in the name of providing jobs abroad were transferred from Delhi’s Tihar Jail to Jamshedpur on Saturday. The accused, identified as Fayaz Khan, Mushtaq Siddiqui and Vishwanath Pratap Singh, were presented before the court and subsequently sent to Ghaghidih Central Jail.
The case surfaced after multiple victims, including youths from Jamshedpur, filed complaints against Hayat Consultancy, a now-defunct company based in the Sakchi police station area. The firm allegedly swindled crores of rupees from job seekers.
Following their arrest by the Delhi Crime Branch in January, Jamshedpur police sought court approval to bring the accused to the city for further legal proceedings. “These individuals were involved in a large-scale fraud, misleading job seekers and extorting money under false promises. Bringing them here will aid in further investigations,” a police official stated.
Upon arrival, the accused underwent a medical examination at MGM Hospital before being sent to Ghaghidih Central Jail. Investigations are ongoing to identify more victims and recover the swindled money.
