Jamshedpur: The Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) authorities have approved vital water supply projects. Mango Mayor Sudha Gupta announced that these projects will soon provide residents with improved, regular, and high-pressure drinking water supply.
The municipal corporation will spend more than ₹1.41 crore to execute these extensive upgrades.
Key Projects Approved Under the Scheme:
The approved infrastructure pipeline targets several water crisis-prone zones across Mango:
- Pipeline Interconnections: Major integration works will take place at Baganshahi Bawangora Chowk (Road No. 7), Beecha Khan Road to Kuli Road, Shanti Nagar Road No. 6 to Sanjay Path, and from Sky Tower to the tire shop in Gulzar Bagh.
- Pump Installations: The corporation will install high-capacity 50 HP and 25 HP pumps to bolster water pressure for Zone-1 and Zone-5.
- Valves & Infrastructure: Workers will install new pipelines, air valves, and various sizes of sluice valves across Samta Nagar, Thakur Road, and Gokul Nagar.
- Plant Maintenance: The project covers the comprehensive cleaning and repair of the MGD Water Treatment Plant located at Road No. 15, Jawahar Nagar.
Resolving Long-Standing Water Issues
Gupta emphasized that the municipal corporation is working on projects to provide permanent solutions to the water issues that have plagued Mango for years. “Once we complete these projects, it will strengthen our water distribution network, significantly improve water pressure, and eliminate the water crisis in several pockets of the city,” she stated.
To ensure swift relief for the public, the mayor has directed corporation engineers and the contracted agencies to maintain strict quality control and complete all approved works within the stipulated timeframe.
