Jamshedpur : In a major breakthrough involving twin murder case of Mango, the police have succeeded to nab one of the assailants who had murdered Manju Prasad and her four-year-old son, Dweej at Madhusudhan Complex in Mango last week.
Mukesh Kumar Sharma alias Rajesh (26) who murdered his brother-in-law Mohan Sharma at Hata under Potka police station area past Tuesday night was one of the two assailants in the Mango twin murder, the other being his slain brother-in-law.
A police officer revealed Mukesh to have divulged that they (Mukesh and Mohan) had been paid Rs 2.5 lakh for killing the woman and her son at Madhusudan Complex.
According to information a carpenter by profession, Mukesh went to Hata for working at a under-construction residential complex along with Mohan Sharma three days ago, where he had a quarrel with the brother-in-law over some monetary dispute.
In fit of rage, Mukesh murdered Mohan (45) with a sharp-edged equipment used in carpentry. But, Mukesh was caught by the fellow workers and handed over to the Potka police where he confessed about his act of committing murder of a 41-year-old woman and four-year-old child.
Though Mukesh has confessed about his involvement in the twin murder in Mango along with his slain brother-in-law, he has not yet revealed anything why he killed the mother and child.
Prashant Anand, superintendent of police (city) who is investigating the sensational twin murder case confirmed that there was link between the murder of Mohan Sharma in Potka and that the twin murder at Madhusudan complex under Ulidih thana in Mango.
” As per our investigation, there is a connection between the murder taken place at Hata in Potak at small hours on Tuesday and that of the murder of Manju Prasad and Dweej.
One of the killers, Mukesh has also confessed his crime, but he has not revealed anything whether he and his brother-in-=law had been paid for the twin murder,” said Anand.
Both Mukesh like his slain brother-in-law Mohan Sharma is a resident of Moon City area in Mango. The two had been hired by a civil contractor, Prasad Sharma three days ago to Hata, for carrying out wooden work at the building complex.
The police have also detained the civil contractor, Prasad Sharma at the Ulidih thana for interrogation.
The police have taken both Mukesh and Shashi Prasad, husband of slain Manju Prasad to an undisclosed place for interrogation.
Bodies of Manju Prasad (41) and her four-year-old son, Dweej Kumar were found lying murdered on the bed at her residential flat in Madhusudan Complex under Ulidih thana on November 16 night.
Prasad, who is posted as senior manager in Indian Overseas Bank in Kolkata is suspected to have conspired the murder of his wife and son.
