Jamshedpur, Sept 29: The employees of Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) will now use kulhar (earthen tea pots) or paper cups for drinking tea or coffee in office. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting convened by the MMC executive officer Deepak Sahay.
Addressing the meeting, Sahay said plastic was completely prohibited in Mango municipal area. Hence plastic cups and glasses should be completely banned in all government offices. All employees should use only kulhar or paper cups to save the environment, he said.
Sahay said a public awareness campaign against plastic would be launched on 2nd October. Camps would be held at public places across the municipal area, he said.
The meeting was also attended by city mission manager Nirmal Kumar, S Rehman, Nishant Kumar, Dineshwar Yadav and other MMC staff.
