Jamshedpur: In a significant development for the residents of Mango, the Jharkhand government has finally granted administrative approval for six key infrastructure projects worth ₹3.62 crore. The approval was sanctioned on February 24, 2026, just a day before Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy was scheduled to raise the issue via a starred question in the State Assembly.
“Flaw in Work Culture”: Saryu Roy Slams Delays
Addressing the House on Wednesday, MLA Saryu Roy criticized the Urban Development Department for what he termed a “flawed work culture.” He highlighted that while the technical approvals for these projects were secured over a year ago, the administrative clearance remained stalled for ten months.
“Since April 2025, I have personally met the Departmental Minister three times and the Departmental Secretary three times to push for these clearances,” Roy stated. “It is baffling that a department takes ten months to sign off on projects for which the funds are already available with the Mango Municipal Corporation. Not a single paisa was required from the state treasury.”
Roy noted that the sudden approval on the eve of his Assembly question suggests that the department only acts under legislative pressure.
Government Response
The Departmental Minister informed the House that administrative approval for all six schemes has been granted via Order No. 136, dated 24.02.2026. The Minister assured the Assembly that the projects would now move into the execution phase.
