Jamshedpur: Monthly Honorarium Fixed for Mango Mayor, Dty Mayor

Jamshedpur: The newly elected Mayor of Mango Municipal Corporation, Sudha Gupta, will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹10,000, while Deputy Mayor Rahul Kumar Kashyap is set to receive ₹9,000. Additionally, the 34 ward councillors of the corporation will receive ₹7,000 each per month.

The Urban Development Department of the Jharkhand Government fixed these rates under Resolution No. 2647 (dated October 23, 2009). However, the actual disbursement of these funds to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and councillors depends on the availability of the budget.

Payments Likely from April 2026

The elected representatives of the Mango Municipal Corporation have officially assumed their duties after taking the oath of office and secrecy. While the calculation of their honourarium began the moment they took charge, actual payments are expected to start from April 2026. Currently, the Municipal Corporation is awaiting the fund allocation for this purpose from the Urban Development Department headquarters.

Honorarium for Jugsalai Municipal Council

The government has also determined the honorarium for the Jugsalai Municipal Council. Chairperson Nausheen Khan will receive ₹7,000, Vice-Chairperson Archana Dubey will receive ₹6,000, and all 22 ward councillors will receive ₹5,000 per month.

The local administration will keep the elected representatives informed about various municipal meetings. Per the rules of the Urban Development Department, remaining absent from three consecutive meetings without prior notice can lead to the suspension of the honorarium and may even jeopardize their membership.
