SER Reshuffle: Manish Pathak is Sr DOM of Chakradharpur

Jamshedpur: The South Eastern Railway (SER) has implemented a significant administrative reshuffle to bolster operational efficiency across the zone. Following an official order (No. 74/2026) issued on March 25, 2026, from the Garden Reach headquarters in Kolkata, several senior officers have received new assignments with the approval of the General Manager.

Key Appointments and Transfers

The reshuffle introduces new leadership in some of the zone’s most critical operational and administrative roles:

• Manish Kumar Pathak: Formerly the Secretary to the General Manager, Pathak now moves to the Chakradharpur Division as the Senior Divisional Operations Manager (Sr DOM/Co-ord/CKP). This role is pivotal for managing one of the busiest freight divisions in the Indian Railways network.

• Ajay Kumar: Previously the Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer (Projects), Ajay Kumar succeeds Pathak as the new Secretary to the General Manager at Garden Reach.

• Avneesh: The outgoing Sr DOM of Chakradharpur has been transferred to Garden Reach to serve as the Deputy Chief Commercial Manager (Freight Management), filling an existing vacancy.

Administrative Adjustments

As part of this transition, the railway administration has withdrawn the additional charge of Deputy CCM (Freight Management) previously held by Prabir Kumar Ghoshal.

The headquarters has directed all involved officers to promptly report their dates of assumption and relinquishment of charge. The order also mandates the immediate completion of formalities regarding the transfer of official passes and other service entitlements.

Strategic Impact

Railway officials indicate that these changes aim to strengthen coordination and streamline freight movement. The Chakradharpur Division, a major revenue-earner for the SER, is expected to see enhanced operational oversight and improved logistical efficiency under Pathak’s new leadership.
