Man who sexually exploited widow, made objectionable photos viral arrested

Sahibganj: In Jharkhand’s Sahibganj district, a young man has been arrested by the police for luring a widowed woman in a love trap and sexually exploiting her and making her photo viral on social media.

In the press conference on Wednesday, SP Naushad Alam said that a woman resident of Rajmahal police station area of the district gave a written application to the police on September 8 and informed that her husband died in 2015. Meanwhile, Sufi Sheikh, a resident of Maqsood Tola, lured her into a love trap and sexually exploited her. Also, her objectionable photo went viral on social media.
The SP said that a case was registered against him under Section 235/23 11 people including Sufi Sheikh.

A team was formed to investigate the incident under the leadership of Rajmahal police station in-charge Kundan Kant Vimal. Meanwhile, the victim had attempted suicide on September 21 after her picture went viral on social media. She was saved with the help of local people.
Seeing the matter gaining momentum, the police of Rajmahal police station started a drive to arrest the accused. In the course of action, the police team caught one of the accused. A mobile phone has been recovered from him. SP said that the accused will be sent to Rajmahal Divisional Jail after medical examination.
