Ranchi : The process of appointment of Lokayukta has been started in the state. The government has formed a committee for this. The appointment of Lokayukta will be completed soon. Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan gave this information to the High Court on Wednesday.
He asked for time to complete the process. On this, Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen fixed the next hearing for November 22.
Advocate Association and others have filed a petition in this regard. During the last hearing, the court had said that the appointment of constitutional institutions cannot be postponed due to the Leader of Opposition. On this, the Advocate General had told the court that a meeting will be held soon for the appointment of Chief Information Commissioner and Lokayukta. Earlier, an affidavit was filed by the Assembly Secretary on two points asked by the High Court.
