Man robbed of Rs 3 lakh at Kadma, victim stabbed

Jamshedpur : A criminal snatched Rs 3 lakh from a man near Jaiprabha Complex under Kadma police station area on Tuesday. The criminal also stabbed the scooty rider identified as Tapas Das while grabbing the money from him.

Das, a resident of Mohan Path at Bhetiya Bustee in Kadma, was on his way to Bistupur for depositing the money with the State Bank of India (SBI) on his scooty as the incident took place with his friend Mukesh was sitting as a pillion rider.

The victim sustained deep wound in his hand due to the stabbing. The bike-borne criminal had sped away toward Sashtrinagar having taken the bag containing the cash.

Mukesh rushed the victim to the Kadma police station and subsequently the police rushed him to Tata Main Hospital emergency for treatment. Soon afterward, the officer-in-charge, Kadma Jaiprakash Rana rushed to the place of occurrence for the inspection.

Tapas who has been admitted to Tata Main Hospital said that he was going to the SBI’s Bistupur main branch as the cash could not be deposited at the SBI’s cash deposit machine in Kadma.

“I am in state of shock and do not recognise him. The criminal was about 25-years-old and he stabbed in my hand. As I fell down, the criminal took away the bag,” said the victim.

Deputy superintendent of police (law and order) Vijay Kumar Singh also reached the Tata Main Hospital emergency and talked to the victim.
