Make Hindi Divas celebration a way of life: Sukhdev Mahto

Jamshedpur, Sept 16:  Hindi Divas was observed at Srinath University  on Thursday, September 16. The day was observed in the University with the theme, ‘Hindi is our Matri Bhasha’ as also to perpetuate its use especially in an era marked by expanding vistas of the use of English language.

The programme was inaugurated amidst chants of the Gayatri Mantra.

B Ed student Vinita Kumari performed the welcome dance. Many competitions were organized on the occasion including ‘Ulta -Pulta’ (Topsy-Turvy), Vigyapan Rachna’, Samuhik Charcha’ (joint Discussions),  ‘Hansya Kavi Sammelan’ and Nibandh Pratyiogita (Essay writing competition).

The prize winners were (in order of merit) Shweta, Shubham.  And Vivek and Priya respectively (Vigyapan Rachna); Priya Sinha, Shweta Kumari and Shubham Kumar Soingh respectively (Ulta-Pulta); Shubham Kumar Singh, Priya Sinha and Vinay Kumar Mahto respectively  (Hansya Kavi Sammelan); Neha Kumari, Priya Sinha and Vivek Kumar Singh respectively (Samuhik Charcha);  Divya Kumari, Sangita Kumari and Somnath Haldar respectively (Nibandh  competition).

The event was graced by the presence of Chancellor of the University Sukhdeo Mahto. He congratulated the students for their participation and said, “Hindi Divas is not a one day celebration. Make it a way of life.” Dr. Monika Uppal, HoD of Education Department expressed her views, thoughts and respect towards Hindi language. She congratulated students and expressed the hope that participation would be enhanced in future in all competitive segments during Hindi Divas celebration for promotion of Hindi language.

A skit themed on the purpose and importance of Hindi Divas celebration was put up by the faculty members. The programme was anchored by Assistant Prof Madhu Sharma and vote of thanks was offered by Media Cell In-charge .Rachna Rashmi.
