Jamshedpur: Passengers of an SUV had a miraculous escape when the four-wheeler ran out of control and turned turtle in Birsanagar. The road mishap took place on Thursday when a Mahindra XUV 700 lost control and overturned in a field along the Moharda–Badabanki main road under the Birsanagar police station area.
The incident occurred around 4 am near the Nutandih locality, where the SUV veered off the road and rolled nearly five feet down into an adjoining field. Fortunately, all occupants escaped unhurt.
According to initial information, the vehicle was passing through Nutandih when poor visibility caused by dense fog, combined with a sharp curve on the road, led the driver to lose control. The SUV crashed into the field and overturned, sustaining significant damage.
Despite the severity of the accident, all passengers managed to exit the vehicle safely and moved to a secure location. No serious injuries were reported. The vehicle is said to be from the Telco area, though official confirmation will follow the police investigation.
Local residents noticed the overturned car after the fog began to clear in the morning and immediately alerted the Birsanagar police. A police team reached the spot, initiated an investigation, and used a crane to retrieve the vehicle, which was later taken to the Birsanagar police station.
Police officials said that preliminary findings suggest dense fog and the sharp bend in the road as the primary cause of the accident. Further investigation is underway.
