Jamshedpur, Dec 18: The second day of the Ninth International Srinath Hindi Mahotsav was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Srinath University, Adityapur, featuring a blend of academic deliberations, student competitions and vibrant cultural performances.
A key highlight of the day was a Chintan–Manan (deliberation) session on the theme “Relevance and Impact of Hindi in Administrative Functions.” The session was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, East Singhbhum, Piyush Pandey; Colonel Vinay Ahuja, Commanding Officer, 37 Battalion NCC; and Supreme Court advocate Sanskriti Mishra. The discussion was coordinated by assistant professors Rachna Rashmi and Shivangi.

Addressing the gathering, SSP Piyush Pandey emphasized that awareness is the most effective tool for crime control and Hindi plays a crucial role in creating public awareness. He noted that when complex concepts such as cybercrime and digital arrest are explained in simple Hindi, people understand them better and are less vulnerable to misinformation. He added that communication in the local language during protests or emergencies helps defuse tension quickly and peacefully, making Hindi a practical and effective working language for the police.
Colonel Vinay Ahuja highlighted Hindi’s importance in organizations like the NCC and the Indian Army, where it strengthens discipline, unity and emotional bonding. He stressed that to make Hindi a more effective administrative and defense language, the process must begin at the school level, with stronger emphasis on Hindi education.
Supreme Court advocate Sanskriti Mishra pointed out that English continues to dominate judicial systems such as e-courts and online filings. She said the limited use of Hindi in legal proceedings creates a gap between the judiciary and common citizens and using simple Hindi in legal documents could make justice more accessible and democratic.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. S. N. Singh said the festival reflects Srinath University’s commitment to promoting Hindi and providing students a platform to showcase their talents.
The day also witnessed multiple competitions, including Radio Srinath, Hindi typing, Vakya Veer, Nritya Natika, Startup Srinath, quizzes, rangoli and reels communication, with participation from colleges and universities across Kolhan and adjoining regions.
