Jamshedpur: The Maa Pahadi Puja Committee kicked off preparations for the annual festival on Friday with a traditional Bhoomi Pujan ceremony at the Carriage Colony Football Ground.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Mahabir Murmu attended the event as the chief guest and yajman. The committee warmly welcomed him amid lively traditional music. Priest K. Kumar Rao conducted the rituals, chanting Vedic hymns and offering sacred items like a kalash, coconut, and fruits to ensure obstacle-free festivities.
Murmu noted that collective devotion strengthens social harmony, removes social evils, and brings regional prosperity. Puja Committee President Raju Mukhi announced that Vijay Tent has officially begun constructing a grand pandal for this long-standing local tradition.
The five-day festivities will run from June 19 to June 23, featuring cultural attractions, vibrant tableaux, fireworks, and a grand immersion procession. Committee members and numerous devotees attended the sacred launch.
