Jamshedpur: Loyola School marked a significant advancement in its educational resources with the inauguration of an Astronomy, Robotics, and AI Lab, as well as a Digital Library. These state-of-the-art facilities were dedicated on Tuesday, coinciding with the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, celebrated annually on the 31st of July to honor the founder of the Society of Jesus and his enduring legacy.

The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by an Ignatian prayer led by Fr. Victor Misquith S.J. Fr. Victor, along with the Principal, Fr. Vinod Fernandes S.J., extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Ananya Mittal, the District Commissioner of East Singhbhum.

In the week leading up to the event, the school hosted painting and poetry contests, with winners being awarded during the main celebration. The day’s program was enriched with student performances, including songs, video presentations, and dances. A quiz on St. Ignatius drew significant enthusiasm from both participants and the audience, while an innovative skit highlighted the 250-year-old legacy of St. Ignatius, demonstrating how the Jesuit mission continues to nurture and shape young minds.

The Chief Guest, Ananya Mittal, had the honor of releasing the Loyola magazine, a platform for Loyoleans to express their creative urges, experiences, reflections, and perspectives. Keeping pace with technological advancements, Loyola School also launched its own app, designed to provide easy access to school information, with Sandeep from 3S Services conducting the launch. Additionally, the Loyola Alumni Association introduced its app, developed by alumnus Ishaan Ahuja from the 2008 batch.

To commemorate the Feast Day, the school, in collaboration with its alumni, organized a Blood Donation Camp on the premises, underscoring their commitment to service.
