Jamshedpur, July 17:
Manav Dalmia of Loyola School has become the second Jharkhand and city topper in ICSE 10th Board exams by scoring 99.4 per cent marks.
Preparing for the last two years to achieve his goal, Manav attributes his success to his parents and teachers. No sooner did the result get published, he and his parents heaved a sigh of relief as Manav’s hard work finally paid its rich dividends.
“My school teachers, elder brother and parents have contributed hugely to my success by helping me throughout my preparation,” says the humble but confident boy.

Manav’s father Shambhu Dalmia and mother Arpita Dalmia are directors of their company Sri Tirupati Minerals Private Limited. His elder brother Purab Dalmia always helped him tide over difficulties that he faced during his studies.
Biology, English and History have always been Manav’s favourite subjects. In a message to his juniors, he says, “Students should not take studies as a burden. Also, they should not miss their classes. Instead they should take their classes seriously and clear their doubts by taking help from teachers. One should always keep one’s mind fixated on target. Taking breaks from studies is okay. One can watch movies and go around with friends. The last movie that I watched with my friends was ‘The Sixth Sense’. While watching movies, I like to go deeper into its cinematographic details such as how was a particular shot edited.”
According to Manav, “It’s not necessary for a student to read for eight hours every day. Rather one should read as per a study plan. If on a day we study for six hours, we can do it for just two hours on any other day. But we should not miss our school classes and at least study for four hours a day on an average.”
