Jamshedpur, July 16: Bistupur police have registered an FIR against 14 persons in connection with the incident of firing on Congress leader Mohammad Iqbal on Friday last.
Police have detained over a dozen people for interrogation regarding the shootout incident. A special team has been formed to arrest the culprits, sources said.
Police officials said raids were being conducted to nab the prime accused Salman and his goons.
Iqbal was about to leave for a programme with his family around 5.30 pm on Friday when Salman and his goons fired on him. He ran into his house to save his life. Six rounds were fired in the incident. Later, police recovered two bullet cases from the scene. The incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed near the crime scene, cops said.
