Jamshedpur: Adityapur railway station will begin operations for long-distance trains from the first week of April, announced DRM Tarun Huria of Chakradharpur Division on Friday. He stated that construction work at the station is nearing completion and all necessary arrangements will be finalized by April.
With this development, several trains traveling from Tatanagar to Chakradharpur, Chaibasa and Chandil will originate from Adityapur station, while trains heading towards Asanbani, Kharagpur and Hijli will continue from Tatanagar. The railway authorities are currently preparing a new schedule to streamline operations.
Additionally, Tatanagar station is set for redevelopment, with agency selection expected in April. “We aim to make Tatanagar station as safe and convenient as an airport and redevelopment work is likely to begin by May-June,” said DRM Huria. To minimize inconvenience, a detailed train operation plan will be in place before construction starts.
Currently, only passenger trains halt at Adityapur station, but plans are in motion to transform it into a terminal station for Tatanagar. To accommodate this transition, the railway is upgrading passenger facilities at Adityapur, ensuring a smoother travel experience for long-distance commuters.
