Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in Jamshedpur today

Jamshedpur: Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, will be on a day-long visit to Jharkhand on Sunday, May 25, 2025, with engagements scheduled in both Ranchi and Jamshedpur. The visit will include tributes to tribal icon Lord Birsa Munda, participation in a major business community event, and a civic felicitation ceremony in the state capital.

As per official information, Birla will arrive at Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi at 9:10 AM on Sunday, flying in from Delhi. Shortly after his arrival, he will proceed to Birsa Chowk where he will pay homage to the legendary freedom fighter Lord Birsa Munda by garlanding his statue at 9:20 AM.

Later in the day, from 12:15 PM to 2:00 PM, the Speaker will be in Jamshedpur to attend the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The commemorative programme will take place at Fasy Auditorium, Loyola School, and will see the presence of prominent business leaders, industrialists, and public representatives from across the region.

The Singhbhum Chamber, one of the oldest and most active trade bodies in eastern India, is marking 75 years of its service to the business community and regional development.  Birla is expected to address the gathering and highlight the importance of industry in nation-building and democratic governance.

Post the Jamshedpur event,  Birla will return to Ranchi via Sonari Airport at 3:15 PM. In the evening, he will attend a civic felicitation programme organised by various cultural and social organisations at Swarn Bhoomi, Dangartoli, scheduled from 5:45 PM to 7:40 PM.

The event in Ranchi will serve as a platform for local groups and citizens to honour  Birla for his leadership in Parliament and his engagement with regional issues. He is expected to interact with the public and address the gathering during the felicitation.

Tight security arrangements and logistical preparations are underway in both Ranchi and Jamshedpur in view of the high-profile visit. Local administrations have issued advisories for traffic control and crowd management at key locations.
