Little Flower School Jamshedpur wins Thomas Paul Science Quiz at Loyola

DBMS English School Finishes Second, Jusco School Kadma Secures Third Place

Jamshedpur, August 2: Little Flower School emerged as the champion of the highly anticipated Thomas Paul Science Quiz 2025, hosted by Loyola School, Jamshedpur, on Saturday at the Fasy Auditorium. DBMS English School secured the runner-up position, while Jusco School Kadma claimed third place in a thrilling contest that brought together some of the brightest science minds from across the city.

The annual inter-school quiz, held in memory of the late Sir Thomas Paul, a beloved former Physics and Mathematics teacher at Loyola School, witnessed participation from 19 school teams. Known for his clarity, passion for teaching, and deep commitment to science education, Sir Thomas Paul left an indelible impact on his students before his untimely demise in a road accident. The quiz stands as a tribute to his legacy and continues to inspire a scientific spirit among students.

The event commenced at 9:30 a.m. with a warm welcome from the Master of Ceremonies, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by dignitaries including Rector Fr. Mike Raj, former Rector Fr. K.M. Joseph, Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes, Vice Principal Mrs. Jayanthi Sheshadri, and the Quiz Master Mr. Deepak P. Kamath.

Fr. Mike Raj led the gathering in prayer, after which Principal Fr. Vinod Fernandes delivered the welcome address. The event’s highlight was the introduction of Quiz Master Mr. Deepak P. Kamath, an alumnus of Loyola School (batch of 1988) and currently CEO of Tata Steel Support Services Ltd.

Following a rigorous preliminary round, six top-scoring teams advanced to the finals. Mr. Kamath conducted the quiz with finesse, guiding the finalists through a series of intellectually stimulating rounds that tested their knowledge of scientific concepts, reasoning, and current developments.

The Fasy Auditorium resonated with excitement and applause as participants displayed sharp analytical thinking and teamwork. After a closely contested final round, Little Flower School triumphed, earning the coveted winner’s trophy. DBMS English School followed closely behind, while Jusco School Kadma put up an impressive performance to secure the third spot.

At the conclusion of the event, Quiz Master Mr. Kamath was felicitated by Fr. Mike Raj, Fr. K.M. Joseph, and Mrs. Jayanthi Sheshadri. In his address, Mr. Kamath encouraged students to embrace curiosity and continue their pursuit of excellence in science, reminding them that true learning begins with asking questions.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and loud applause for all participants, marking another successful edition of the Thomas Paul Science Quiz.
