Gamharia, Mar 17: A tense situation unfolded on Sunday morning when a leopard was spotted roaming inside Plant 1 of RSB Transmission Private Limited Company located in the Gamharia industrial area around 9:30 am. The presence of the leopard caused alarm among the few employees and laborers present in the plant due to the Sunday holiday.
Upon sighting the leopard, employees promptly evacuated the premises and informed senior officials of the company. Subsequent investigation using CCTV footage confirmed the presence of the leopard within the company premises. Authorities immediately notified the Seraikela Forest Division, prompting a swift response from the Forest Department team to rescue the leopard.
To aid in the rescue efforts, drone cameras were deployed to monitor every corner of the plant. However, as of the latest update, the leopard remains elusive. Ranger Digvijay Singh of the Seraikela Forest Department reported finding claw marks and blood near the company’s toilet, indicating that the leopard may have sustained injuries.
Rescue operations are underway with available resources from the Forest Department, and additional expertise has been sought from forest department experts in Bankura district, West Bengal. Forest Department officials remain stationed at the site, diligently working towards safely capturing the leopard.
