Jamshedpur, Oct 23: Dr. Ashok Kumar Jha “Avichal,” Principal of LBSM College in Karandih, Jamshedpur, has been appointed as a member of the Maithili Advisory Committee of Bharatiya Jnanpith, India’s premier literary award-giving institution. Dr. Jha, a noted Maithili and Hindi litterateur, has previously served as the director and executive member of the North Eastern region of Sahitya Akademi.
His appointment to this prestigious committee, responsible for recommending awards and other literary honors, is for a three-year term. Dr. Avichal’s expertise and experience will undoubtedly contribute to the recognition of literary excellence in Maithili language.
