Latehar, 2 June: A passenger bus met with a devastating accident on Friday near the over bridge on the Chatra-Ranchi main road at Balumath block headquarters. The incident resulted in the loss of two lives, while several passengers sustained injuries. The deceased have been identified as Md. Inayatullah (33), an employee of the bus hailing from Ranchi, and Pratima Devi (30), a resident of Balumath. Another passenger, Ravindra Kumar, suffered severe injuries and has been referred to RIMS for further medical treatment.
According to the available information, a passenger bus named Mona was en route from Chatra to Ranchi, carrying a number of passengers. Unexpectedly, the leaf spring of the bus broke while it was crossing the Balumath over bridge. This caused the bus to lose balance and collide with the divider on the over bridge. The impact of the collision was significant, causing one wheel of the bus to climb over the divider. As a result, bus employee Md. Inayatullah, Pratima Devi, Ravindra Kumar, and other passengers sustained injuries. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police force arrived at the scene. The injured were transported to Balumath Hospital, where the condition of the three seriously injured victims is reported to be stable. However, Mohd. Inayatullah and Pratima Devi succumbed to their injuries during the journey to RIMS for further medical treatment.
