Old feud sparks firing in Jamshedpur’s Dhatkidih, two held with weapon

Jamshedpur, May 4: In a swift breakthrough, police have cracked the sensational firing incident reported from Qureshi Mohalla in Dhatkidih under the Bistupur police station area, revealing that the attack stemmed from a long-standing personal rivalry.
Two accused have been arrested, and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered.
According to police officials, the incident occurred on May 3, triggering immediate action from law enforcement.
An FIR was registered based on the statement of local resident Sarfaraz Qureshi alias Gama, following which an intensive investigation was launched. Preliminary findings quickly pointed towards an old enmity as the motive behind the shooting.
Investigators revealed that a heated altercation had taken place between the accused and the complainant just a day prior to the incident. The dispute escalated violently the next day when the accused allegedly opened fire with intent to kill.
Acting promptly, police apprehended the main accused, Mohammad Imran alias Gaure (34), along with his associate Mehtab Alam (20), from the Azadnagar thana area.
During the arrest, officers recovered a country-made automatic pistol used in the crime.
Further seizures included a live 7.65 mm cartridge, an empty shell casing, and a numberless Honda Shine motorcycle believed to have been used in the attack.
Police sources disclosed that Imran alias Gaure has a long criminal record, with nearly ten cases registered against him.
He had reportedly been released from jail recently.
Officials stated that further investigation is underway to identify additional accused and possible links. The successful operation was carried out through coordinated efforts of the local police station and a special team.
