Lalit Meena appointed as the new City SP of Jamshedpur, Seraikela Gets New SP

Lalit Meena has been appointed as the new City SP of Jamshedpur, while Shubham Kumar Khandelwal will take charge as SP (Rural), overseeing policing in the surrounding areas. In addition, Rishabh Trivedi has been posted as ASP (Headquarters-1), further strengthening administrative coordination in the city.

These appointments are expected to enhance policing efficiency and improve response mechanisms in both urban and rural pockets of Jamshedpur.

In a decisive step to strengthen the state’s policing and administrative framework, the Jharkhand government has carried out a major reshuffle of 46 IPS officers. The notification, issued late Friday night, includes transfers across key districts, with notable changes in Jamshedpur and Seraikela.

The reshuffle has led to the replacement of Superintendents of Police (SPs) in 16 districts, along with the assignment of additional responsibilities to several senior officers.

In Seraikela, Nidhi Dwivedi has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police. The appointment is considered significant given the district’s proximity to industrial zones and its strategic importance in maintaining law and order.

The new leadership is expected to focus on strengthening security, streamlining policing, and addressing emerging challenges in the district.

Senior Officers Given Additional Charge

At the senior level, CID ADG Manoj Kaushik has been assigned additional charge of ADG (Headquarters), while Pankaj Kamboj has been given additional responsibility as IG (Human Rights).

Statewide Transfers Across Key Positions

The reshuffle also includes several important postings across Jharkhand. Narendra Kumar Singh has been appointed IG, Palamu, and Shailendra Sinha as Zonal IG, Bokaro. Michael Raj S has been posted as IG (Railways), while Sunil Bhaskar takes charge as IG, Jharkhand Armed Police.

At the district level, Ashutosh Shekhar has been posted as SP, Garhwa; Anudeep Singh to Pakur; Praveen Pushkar to Deoghar; Mukesh Kumar Lunayat to Ramgarh; and Aman Kumar to Hazaribagh. Kapil Chaudhary has been appointed SP, Palamu.

In Dhanbad, Mumal Rajpurohit has been made SP (Railways), while Mohammad Yaqoob will serve as SP (Rural). Gaurav Goswami has been appointed SP (Rural), Ranchi.

Several officers have also been posted in specialized wings such as ACB, Special Branch, ATS, and JAP/IRB battalions, reflecting a comprehensive administrative overhaul.

Aim: Stronger Law and Order

Officials stated that the reshuffle is aimed at boosting operational efficiency, strengthening intelligence networks, and ensuring better coordination across districts.

With fresh appointments in key districts like Jamshedpur and Seraikela, the state government is expected to intensify efforts toward maintaining law and order and improving public service delivery.
