Jamshedpur, March 9: International Women’s Day was celebrated in Tata Motors Jamshedpur Plant on Wednesday with a day-long, colourful program, which was attended by over 900 lady employees from TML, TML Drivelines and TTL and esteemed guests.
Other stake holders like employee wives and teachers of Tata Motors aided schools by conducting multiple events in the runway to the event. Events like “Making Innovative Recipes”, “Craft making” and “Creative writing” saw enthusiastic participation from wives of our employees and lady teachers of the Tata Motors aided schools along with women employees. These events were conducted a day before the Women’s Day.
On Women’s Day, the program started with a talk on the Legal provisions and SHAR Policy for women by Ms Ruth Perkins, Manager (CSR) and Secretary, SHAR Committee, Tata Motors , Jamshedpur and awareness session on cervical cancer and its vaccine by Matron of Tata Motors hospital, Ms Moly Hem. The day had many fun-filled activities lined up like Rangoli, Fancy Dress (showcasing Weaves of India) etc. Rangoli was organized on the theme of the National Safety Week to couple celebrations with safety awareness among women employees.
The mega event ‘Talent Hunt’ saw lady employees showcase their talents in dancing, singing, playing musical instruments, acting and so on. While the employees demonstrated their talents by wholeheartedly participating in the contests, the wives of senior executives had an exciting time judging the events for us.
The event was graced by Bharti Lall, the Chief Guest of the occasion, along with a number of senior lady employees, winners of contests held for housewives and school teachers and spouses of senior executives.
In order to couple volunteering with celebrations and fun, stalls of Vikas showroom, START and Neev, one of NGOs making beauty products, were set up in the event venue for display and sale of their products.
The stall of Flora Horticultural Society, at display in the venue with variety of rare fresh and dry fruits, also saw many footfalls.
