Ghatshila, July 8: Social organization, Ek Pahal organized a public meeting on June 19 during which it was agreed that a blood bank was necessary in Ghatshila. BJP state spokesperson and former Baharagora legislator Kunal Shadangi was present during that meeting. He spoke to the Health Secretary on the issue.
BJP leader, Dr Sunita Devdoot Soren attended the next meeting wherein it was decided to hand a demand letter for instituting a blood bank in Ghatshila would be handed to the Civil Surgeon in Jamshedpur and shortly, Dr Sunita Devdoot Soren leading a delegation met the Civil Surgeon and handed him the demand letter for instituting a blood bank in Ghatshila. A copy of the letter was also handed to the chief patron of ‘Ek Pahal,’ Kunal Shadangi for further action on the issue.
Kunal Sarangi met the Health Secretary of Jharkhand, Arun Kumar on Thursday, July 7 and urged him to consider the demand letter for a blood bank in Ghatshila. Assuring Kunal, the Health Secretary said that a team would be sent to Ghatshila shortly and submit a report to him following which a positive step would be taken to open a blood bank. The members of Ek Pahal were happy and expressed their gratitude to the Health secretary, Kunal Shadangi and Dr Sunita Devdoot Soren for initiating a move to set up a blood bank in Ghatshila.
