KSMS Celebrates Spirit of Yoga

Jamshedpur, June 21: With the theme “Yoga for Wellness , Wisdom and World Peace , Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS) celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm on 21st June 2026.

The celebration witnessed active participation from students of Std IX to XII , Scouts and Guides, Teachers, School Management, Alumni, Parents, and other stakeholders. The programme was conducted in a pleasant and comfortable ambience, ensuring a relaxing and enriching experience for all participants.

The celebration was graced by institution’s key leaders — Academic Director Nandini Shukla,  , Vice Principal  A. L. Abraham, Headmistress   Sujata Singh Registrar ,Vrinda Suresh. Their wholehearted participation inspired the school community to embrace yoga as a daily practice for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The Principal, Rina Banerjee, conveyed her best wishes for the success of the event.

The resource persons ,Jahnvi Goswami  and Mitendra Gorai , guided the participants through the yoga protocol and highlighted the numerous benefits of regular yoga practice. They were supported by the School counselor, Nishi Thakur and Teacher Lata Panicker. Dedicated Teacher and Student Volunteers ensured the smooth and efficient execution of the programme.

The program was hosted by the School Vice President , Piyu Dey of Std XI and the School Pupil Leader, Aarushi Choudhary of Std X. Members of the school’s Yoga Club demonstrated various siting, standing and laying asanas  and guided the audience in performing them correctly. Rhythmic Yoga performed by Vindhy Kumar Pandey of Std IX and Tejas Das of Std X was much appreciated by the audience. The benefits of each asana were explained, helping participants understand the importance of yoga in leading a healthy and balanced life. Pranayam  followed by Meditation was practiced in the session.

The successful execution of the International Day of Yoga celebrations was made possible through the strong support of the school management and the dedicated effort of the Activity In-charges, Shalini Kumar,  Payel Roy  and the Office Staff whose coordination ensured the smooth conduct of all activities.
