Jamshedpur, June 21: Kerala Public School Kadma enthusiastically observed International Yoga Day today, reaffirming their commitment to nurturing physically healthy, mentally resilient, and emotionally balanced young minds.
Students, teachers, parents, and staff members from Kerala Public School Kadma, Mango, Gamharia, Burmamines, NML, Rairangpur, INCAB and EMRS Tamar participated in synchronized yoga sessions conducted on their respective campuses.
The programme at KPS Kadma began with a brief introduction to the significance of Yoga, followed by demonstrations and guided practice of various asanas, pranayama, meditation techniques, and relaxation exercises.
Addressing the gathering, school leaders emphasized that Yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but one of India’s oldest and most profound contributions to humanity. Rooted in thousands of years of wisdom, Yoga offers a holistic approach to life by harmonising the body, mind, and spirit. In an age marked by stress, distractions, and increasing mental health challenges, Yoga continues to provide a pathway towards inner balance, self-discipline, mindfulness, and well-being.
Students were encouraged to view Yoga not as a one-day event but as a lifelong practice capable of enhancing concentration, emotional stability, physical fitness, and overall quality of life. Special emphasis was laid on integrating simple yoga practices into daily routines to cultivate healthy habits from an early age.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of all age groups, reflecting the growing awareness of wellness and preventive healthcare among young learners. Demonstrations by students showcased flexibility, balance, focus, and discipline, while collective meditation sessions created an atmosphere of calmness and positivity across campuses.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sharmila Mukherjee, Principal, Kerala Public School Kadma , stated: At Kerala Public Schools, we believe education must develop not only the intellect but also the character and well-being of every child.”
