‘Auto, van drivers integral part of the school’
Jamshedpur, Nov 29: KPS Kadma celebrated its one of the most awaited annual event ‘Sarthi Diwas’ in the school premises on Tuesday.
The role of a Sarthi, a charioteer, is a significant one. He fulfills all the responsibilities laid on him.
He is impartial to the children. He is like the guru steering in the right direction. This automatically makes him the most powerful person.
All the auto-rickshaw and van drivers who help in commuting of students to and from school were welcomed and felicitated by Eco Club jointly with Safe Club of the school.
Principal Sharmila Mukherjee informed, “Our drivers took a pledge that they will follow the road rules very strictly and take good care of all the children and get them to school and home on time.”
On the occasion, beautiful dance performance by the students grabbed the attention of the audience.
A session was conducted by the Chief Guest Rakesh Kumar, Traffic Inspector, Bistupur Police Station for Sarthis on road safety with a aim to provide road safety information so as to reduce any kind of risk on road.
Addressing the gathering the Guest of Honour, John Andrew Bagun appreciated the drivers and said that they (drivers) are the most important and integral part of school.
Chief Guest Rakesh Kumar, Inspector, Traffic, Bistupur gave an enlightening speech on safety issue.
Guests were highly impressed with the concern and alertness of school authorities, teachers and students on the issue of safety.
Earlier the program started with lighting of auspicious lamp to mark commencement of the day organised in observance of Safety Week.
Also present were KPS Director Sharat Chandran, Academic Director Lakshmi Sharat, Headmistress Alamelu Ravishankar and teachers of other KPS branches.
