Villagers protest against Arjun Munda at Turamdih project

Jadugora, June 22: The Turamdih Uranium Project’s Tower Ground witnessed parallel demonstrations on Monday over employment demands for displaced families linked to retired and deceased workers of the project.
While former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda and BJP leaders staged a protest against UCIL, a separate group of villagers, led by five village heads, held a counter-demonstration near the Turamdih Uranium Mine gate.
The protesters raised slogans against Munda, burned his effigy, and accused him of politicising the issue.
As Munda’s convoy was leaving the protest site, demonstrators approached the route and voiced their opposition. A potential confrontation was averted due to the prompt intervention of Sundernagar police.
