Komal Sah of Carmel High School, Chakradharpur, tops Kolhan in JAC Class X

Jamshedpur, April 19: Komal Sah, a student of Carmel High School in Chakradharpur, achieved the distinction of being the Kolhan and district topper in the Jharkhand Academic Council 10th Board exams, scoring an impressive 97.2 percent marks. Despite facing financial constraints at home, Komal aspired to pursue engineering after completing her 12th with science.

With a total of 486 marks, Komal’s achievement brought joy not only to her family but also to the teachers at Carmel High School. She attributed her success to the support and guidance of her parents, cousin, Principal Sister Jagrani, and other teachers.

Highlighting her journey, Komal recalled how she initially struggled with studies in classes 5 and 6 but gradually developed an interest, fueled by the encouragement of her teachers and peers. Her dream of becoming an engineer remained steadfast, despite the financial challenges her family faced.

Carmel High School in Chakradharpur has maintained a consistent track record of academic excellence, achieving a 100% pass rate this year. Principal Sister Jagrani expressed pride in Komal’s accomplishment and commended the dedication of all teachers in nurturing the students’ potential.

Among the other high achievers from Carmel High School were Arun Samvaiya, Munna Jamuda, and Pushpa Soy, who also contributed to the school’s success with their remarkable performances. Sister Jagrani noted a trend of increasing success among female students in recent years as compared to their male counterparts, signaling a positive shift in academic outcomes.

Financially hit Kolhan JAC Board topper’s family seeks government aid

Chakradharpur, April 19: Vinod Sah, father of Komal Sah, the Kolhan and district topper in the Jharkhand Board exams, has appealed for government assistance to support his daughter’s education. Residing in Potka, Chakradharpur, Vinod Sah works in paddy purchasing while his wife, Sanju Devi, is a homemaker. Their financial situation has been strained due to the illness of Komal’s elder sister, Neha Sah, over the past two years.

Neha Sah’s treatment for brain hemorrhage has significantly depleted the family’s savings, exacerbating the financial challenges. Despite their struggles, Komal has excelled academically at Carmel High School, receiving invaluable support from her teachers.

Vinod Sah expressed his determination to ensure Komal’s educational pursuits, emphasizing the importance of government assistance to alleviate their financial burden. Komal, who could not afford separate tuition due to financial constraints, dedicated herself to self-study at home, aided by the guidance of her school teachers.

As Komal’s academic achievements shone despite familial hardships, her family’s plea for governmental support underlined the critical need for accessible education for all, irrespective of financial background.
