Jamshedpur, Jan 29: The Inter-College Chess Competition 2025, under the aegis of Kolhan University, Chaibasa, was successfully hosted at Workers College, Jamshedpur, on January 29. The event was graced by Dr. Hasan Imam Malik, Chief Coach of Tata Handball Training Center and Dr. Amar Singh, Principal of Jamshedpur Cooperative College, as chief guests.
Many affiliated colleges participated in the tournament, sending their top chess players. The event was inaugurated by Dr. S.P. Mahalik, Principal of Workers College, who reiterated the institution’s commitment to promoting sports.
Abhishek Kumar and Akash Kumar Mohapatra of Karim City College secured first and second positions, respectively, in the individual category. In the team category, Karim City College emerged as the winner, followed by Jamshedpur Cooperative College in second place. The competition was organized under the leadership of Dr. Suman Kumari, Sports Incharge and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Surabhi Sinha of the Geography Department.
