Jamshedpur : In response to the plummeting temperatures, Kolhan districts, including East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan, have received a total of Rs 11 lakh from the Disaster Fund to implement measures against the cold wave. The Home, Jail, and Disaster Department Secretary of the Jharkhand Government, Amitabh Kaushal, has issued directives to all District Commissioners (DCs) for special arrangements, such as lighting bonfires, to provide relief to the impoverished individuals residing outdoors.
The fund distribution is as follows: East Singhbhum: Rs 4 lakh, West Singhbhum: Rs 4 lakh,Seraikela-Kharsawan: Rs 3 lakh.
A comprehensive amount of Rs 79 lakh has been disbursed to all 24 districts across the state. Strict instructions accompany the allocation, emphasizing adherence to spending norms. Additionally, DCs are instructed not to retain funds in bank accounts and are mandated to surrender any unspent amounts by March 20, ensuring timely and effective utilization of the disaster fund. Notably, authorities are urged to refrain from generating air conditioning bills using these funds.
