Kolabira market remains closed in protest against Parikshit’s death

Saraikela, Dec 5: Shopkeepers of Kolabira market downed their shutters in protest against the death of chicken trader Parikshit Mahto who was hit by a speeding trailer truck on Friday. The 55 year old deceased was hit while crossing the Saraikela-Kandra Main Road on his bicycle. The trailer truck’s wheels crushed both his legs. Parikshit Mahto died during treatment at MGMC Hospital.

The shopkeepers demanded proper parking of vehicles on the ever busy Saraikela-Kandra Main Road and taking to task drivers of speeding and recklessly driven vehicles. Incidentally, Parikshit Mahto was a fowl seller in Kolabira market.
