Ranchi: The 11th edition of Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz – a knowledge initiative by the Tata group had its Ranchi regional round today amidst an enthralling battle of wits.
S. W. Kispotta & Anand Raj emerged victorious and successfully made it to the zonal finals to be held in Kolkata after competing with and challenging some of the sharpest minds of their city.
Giving the winners a tough competition, Debabrata Chowdhury and Rajiv Gautam from Bokaro Steel Plant bagged the runners-up position.
KK Soan, Secretary cum Commissioner, Department of Transport Government of Jharkhand awarded a prize of Rs 100,000 to the winning team and Rs 50,000 to the runner-up team. The winners of the national final will receive a grand prize of Rs 700,000 along with the coveted Tata Crucible Trophy.
The same will be followed this year where in Rs 2 lakhs from National Winning team’s prize and Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 from the Regional Winners and Runners up prize respectively will be contributed directly to a charity of the team’s choice fulfilling specified conditions.
The Ranchi regional round of Tata Crucible Corporate Quiz 2014 saw participation from 21 teams consisting of corporates from some of the leading companies.
The top 4 teams of the quiz were selected after a written preliminary round 2 more teams were selected through a wild card round.
The other four teams that qualified for the top 6 list included Pooja Verma and Aman Gupta (Tata Steel), Debajit Rabha and Ravi Banjare (Rourkela Steel Plant), Fazal Mahmood & Rishi Gupta (Bokaro Steel), SS Panda & Sampad Mishra (RSP).
