Saryu Roy demands cleaning of Chhath ghats

Jamshedpur: Former MLA and BJP leader Saryu Roy today alleged that district administration had taken the cleanliness call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi lightly.

He said the city localities were still full of garbage even as festivals were round the corner. He demanded cleaning of Chhat ghats across the city before Saturday.

He said if the cleaning was not done within the deadline, the BJP activists would be locking the offices of various civic bodies including Mango Notified Area Committee in protest.

He further alleged that the district administration officials were busy attending state agriculture minister Banna Gupta.

He said Gupta had earlier accused various departments of the state government of being corrupt.

He said the minister should either apologize for his statement or Chief Minister Hemant Soren should resign from his post.
