Jamshedpur, April 17 : In a decisive step towards strengthening the city’s solid waste management system ahead of Swachh Survekshan 2025–26, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) convened a key meeting with bulk waste generators and representatives of the Jamshedpur Hotel and Restaurant Association.
The meeting, chaired by the Deputy Municipal Commissioner, witnessed the participation of senior officials including the General Manager of Tata Steel UISL, along with representatives from prominent hotels, restaurants, and institutions across the city.
Deliberations focused on the effective implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Municipal Commissioner underlined the pivotal role of hotels, restaurants, and large waste generators in building a clean and sustainable city.
He called for proactive compliance and collective responsibility to enhance sanitation standards and improve Jamshedpur’s performance in the upcoming cleanliness survey.
The meeting also reviewed the existing waste management framework, with officials directing continuous monitoring and robust implementation to ensure lasting impact.
