Jamshedpur, July 9 : Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) has decided to set up centre of higher education at the district.Jamshedpur MP,Bidyut Baran Mahato informed this while addressing a press conference here today.

Sharing details of development work in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituencyin view of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government’s completion of four years in the office.

Promising to promote avenues of high education here Mahato said the management of KIIT has sought 300 acres of land at Bahragora for setting up a centre of higher education there like the one running in Bhubaneswar.

“It is a major development for the district.A team of KIIT’s management has visited Bahragora twice and has also held with those concerned. Once the KIIT opens its branch here, the Ghatshila region will one day turn into centre of educational institution,” he claimed out.

Speaking about setting up of an airport in Dhalbhumgarh, the BJP MP also said that he had a talk with the Union aviation minister Suresh Prabhu recently and had pressed him for initiating step to set up the airport.

” As per our information for an airport proposed at the Dhalbhumgarh, in all 550 acres of land is required. We have said that the land will be provided as there is a vast stretch of forest land in Dhalbhumgarh where 500 acres of forest land has been identified. The remaining 50 acres will be private land. The matter is now pending with the Airport Authority of India,” said Mahato.

Union Government has zeroed in on Dhalbhumgarh block of East Sighbhum 80 Kms, from the city for the greenfield Jamshedpur airport. The Union Aviation Ministry has also asked the State Government to start the process of acquiring of land so that the groundwork can be started. The technical team of Airport Authority of India (AAI) that recently conducted survey has given its nod for setting up of the airport at Dhalbhumgarh as it is near to the Steel City.

Mahato, when asked, said the state government has initiated a new step to ensure that the roads being set up at the cost of crore of rupees will be made durable.
