Jamshedpur: In a spirited effort to spread awareness about malaria prevention, Kids International School marked World Malaria Day with a vibrant awareness rally on its campus and surrounding areas today. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students who marched with placards and raised slogans to educate the public about malaria and hygiene.
Led by teachers Shilpi, Aamir, Felin, and Ishrat, the rally aimed to highlight simple yet effective preventive measures against malaria. Students shouted impactful slogans like “Malaria ko haraana hai, Swachhata ko apnaana hai” as they walked through nearby lanes, engaging with residents and passersby.
The rally was flagged off by Principal Rukhsar Ayesha, who praised the students for their energy and sense of responsibility. Students also shared important messages on how to prevent mosquito breeding by avoiding stagnant water in discarded tyres, coolers, and utensils. They urged the community to wear full-sleeved clothes and maintain clean surroundings.
School Director Syed Rashid Zafar addressed the gathering and emphasized the global significance of World Malaria Day, observed every year on April 25. “This day reminds us of the continued fight against a preventable and curable disease. Through awareness and education, especially among children, we can build a healthier future and a malaria-free world,” he said.
He further added that the initiative aimed to instill knowledge and a sense of social duty in students so they could become ambassadors of health and hygiene within their communities.
