Chakradharpur, June 12: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested the Circle Inspector of Khuntpani (West Singhbhum) Harish Chandra Patro from his residence in Mahulsai, Chaibasa, for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Saturday.
The ACB team also raided the residence of the accused, but did not get anything. They brought the accused to Jamshedpur for further action.
Sources said Patro was caught red handed while taking bribe from one Madhusudan Haiburu, a resident of Gotai, for land mutation. He was allegedly delaying the mutation work deliberately after being denied bribe by Haiburu. Fed up with the delay, Haiburu contacted ACB through a social worker Sadhucharan Singh Kuntia. The ACB team soon reached the CI’s residence after contacting the victim, sources said.
